This fabric, from Pink Castle Fabrics, is for a quilt for D&H.
I found a free quilt design website (think it is called quiltmania but not 100%) which also works out how much fabric you need.
D is a mad cyclist and H is very good for and to him! So the echino, cycling in brown, is the fussy cut centre of the churn dash blocks I'm planning to do. For once I've also remembered to buy the backing fabric.
I did a trial block the size I had set on the design website and found it was too small. The one I had done before is a better size
(Promise I will put pictures in when the pc is fixed).
So I will be filing this stash away for a short while, while I get some more w.i.p.'s done

Happy New Year!
So there were to be posts about the other quilt making that I slotted in, some crochet that I've started and new year plans.
Then my laptop broke and I am doing everything from my phone *sob*
So instead here is a shot of the embroidery that I started yesterday after finding out that I need a piece for an exhibition in April. If you look back at past posts, I'm sure you will see that I am not the fastest or most productive crafter. Not panicking yet...

Block of the moment
I've been trying out new blocks; again something to do, with little commitment.
Here is todays effort, inspired by this...

I like it a lot and it was quicker than I thought it would be. Probably do some more of these.
On holiday from work now, so there maybe the odd post more than usual, which won't be hard!

...only in reverse
So the teacher gifts have been made (can't work out how to put in more than 1 photo with phone blogger sorted).
Thought I'd make an appliqué mug rug for a fun change. Yes, yes, I can put letters on, but only in reverse *sob*
(Can't put any photos on now! done! But not the lettering)

EPP 2 and a quick roundup
Wow, just noticed that I haven't post for over a month! I had better get on with this then!
A few weeks ago I started another EPP. Mainly for something to do away from the machine. The idea came from here and I've been busy working out what to do and what it is for.
I'm at filling in the negative space as I don't want to appliqué it on to a background this time. I think it is going well, you tell me.
And the what for? Hoping that the hospital will take it for a pre term baby, it might be too big.
There was also a tiny bit of fabric buying. I'm setting myself the challenge of creating my Nel Watmore quilt design using a pack of her Katherine Wheel charm squares. I could tip myself over the edge but I think I could do with the challenge!
Also, DD and I have decided to join the QAL at Lily's Quilts - Jack Attack. This could be more than I can cope with but we will see. Currently the Sew Intertwined is 1/3 done; really struggled with working out foundation piecing and Swoon is 4 done 5 to go. Just need the children to go back to school and then, oh yes I go back to work!
